The Karlssons

It is official, we are now man and wife, Mr and Mrs Isak Karlsson, I am not Kimberly Karlsson. When we had signed out of the bed and breakfast we stayed at for our honeymoon, I signed the reciept for the first official time as Kimberly Karlsson. Isak's friends call me Mrs Karlsson and it sounds stange and wonderful at the same time. The wedding was beautiful, small, intimate, with a few funny moments.
#1 Mary Beth, my maid of honor, leaning over the railing whispering loudly, "Kim, is this the music I walk to?"
#2 (which i found out later) Mary Beth forgetting the ring and trying to get someone to get it for her out of her purse
#3 when we were exchanging the rings, I had Isak's left hand then he switched to his right hand and then i said, "Honey, we are not getting married in Norway!"( they wear their wedding bands on the right hand instead of the left there)
#4 as I was walking up the stairs to meet my dad, I almost tripped, and fell, on my dress
#5 when we were opening presants afterwards, My dad walks in acting goofy and we laughed so hard, Isak had tears running down his face from it

I will post pics as soon as we get them. We have the small cameras from the reception, the official album will be available in 3-4 weeks and the guys have all their photos. Martin, bless his heart, was dedicated in filming the ceremony and reception so we will try to get that on cds

3 swedes have been sleeping in my living room, one on the love seat, one on the regular couch and the third on the floor. I have another swede arriving thursday and the maid of honor coming wednesday. Unfortunately i will have to kick isak to the living room so Marybeth can sleep in my room. It would be strange to have her sleep with 3/4 swedes.
I am having a wonderful time hanging out with the guys while isak is in classes. I feel bad that he cannot focus all his time on school work. I am trying to help him between now and the wedding and probably later as well. Isak is going to a Tool concert with Magnus (aka Mango or Sigge). The other two plan to walk to Target and I can clean out our new..... upright freezer!!!

I finally got the ok on Sunday to have the reception at the small korean church BUT now it might rain. So far there is a 40% chance :(

I saw this on my sister in laws website and wanted to copy it here, it is so true
My sister-in-law is getting married this weekend. I am so excited for her. Kimberly are you excited? Are you freaking out? If she were here, we would hold hands and jump up and down in a circle and scream like little girls "five more days, five more days!"

I polled the guys on what to order at the place we are going to get the food from, then we just need to take a trip back to the beach to finalize where the actual ceremony will be.

I CANNOT BELIEVE I WILL BE MARRIED SOON!!!!!!!

well, it is down for the count, less than 3 weeks to go before the wedding. I should have been more diligent when writing because so much has happened since Isak came home. Ironically, that is the first major situation that happened. To back track a little, I had arranged with the travel agency in Sweden the return date for Isak's ticket. he is flying back in May and I was trying to find a ticket so I can also fly over at the same time. We are planning on having a small reception there as well. I am counting down the hours before he gets here. 2am, Monday morning, I get a phone call, It's me, my ticket was cancelled and I am not sure when I will be coming home.... I only have a few credits left to talk..... dead air.... i jumped out of bed, sent that travel agent an email saying his ticket was cancelled what happened and called them to get a new ticket. once I found a helpful person, I called Arlanda, the swedish airport and begged the girl to page Isak to call or email me and that I found a ticket. Isak was thinking the same thing and found an earlier flight than I did for the next day. That means i had to wait another 24 hours until i see him. Meanwhile, I picked up the best man, Daniel, who will now be referred to as Sas, his nickname. I never hung out with any of Isak's friends before and this was going to be interesting. I picked him up later that afternoon and gave him all the details. He just laughed. We headed home, hung out, i took him to a korean restuarant so he could try korean food then we went to bed. We go to the airport the next day, waiting at gate A for my darling man. I joked to Sas that it would be funny if Isak walked up behind us and tapped us on the shoulder and how I would scream with joy. Little did I know i was predicting the future. after about an hour, he had to go thru customs, i just happened to turn around and squeaked, there he was, long hair, clean shaven, sweaty and tired from his ordeal. (he had to sleep at the airport for the night since his flight was at 6am swedish time and also there was a downpour that day). we got home, washed him up, had a happy reunion and chilled the rest of the day. I had scheduled a few days off to spend time with him. The next day we went to the beach to find a spot to get married at. we took Sas to the airport, he was flying out to NM to visit some extended family, and Isak and I went shopping. We bought his tux, just the pants and jacket, bought presents for the best man, maid of honor, and his mom. i put a downpayment on the flowers and photographer, we bought some shoes for a trip next summer, decided to order the cake from QVC, planning to order food thru this italian place and hope we can have the reception at the small korean church, got my dad situated with his tux, rented the vest, tie, shirt, cufflinks for Isak, and I think that is about it. All we need to do is pick out song music, our vows, and the little things. I met with the hair stylist but forgot my pics that I found how i wanted my hair to be. I was stressing about the necklace, i had already bought the earrings and isak picked out one i already had, which matches nicely with the earrings, reserved a room at a nice bed and breakfast i found online, a little farther than i thought, so many things going thru my head. OH MY, I forgot the biggest thing!!!!! THE MARRIAGE LICENSE!!!!! We got it the same day we bought the tux, maybe the next day, haha, i forget. i took isak's papers he brought back from Sweden and went to the closest location for the license. I was panicking because i was afraid we wouldn't get it. well, WE GOT IT!!!! Isak gave her his passport and his baptismal record, in english and swedish, and she didn't even notice at the bottom that it said unofficial translation. haha. she was so helpful. once we are married the minister sends it off and after about 3 weeks we can get copies. we have been advised to get SEVERAL copies. I didn't realize i would need a copy to change my name for almost everything!!!!! I am still not sure about the drivers license since it is from ohio and i live in Chicago, as long as i can get the social security card, i can wait until i get back to ohio to get that done.

wow, i wrote a lot, i need to stay on top of things. sas, and Magnus(mango) will be arriving this week on Thursday and then they will both be heading out ot vegas for a few days, Isak's mom cannot come as she broke her kneecap, martin will be coming on the 20th, same day as marybeth, my maid of honor, ted will not be coming as he is going to spain to meet david beckham, like he is more important. but ted said he might come at a later date.

that is it for now.
